Home Inspection FAQs

A home inspection can mean a variety of things depending on who you’re talking to.
At Zeiders’ Home Inspections a home inspection is like taking your home, or soon to be home, to the doctor’s for a check up!
With that information being given to you in a detailed report you can then have peace of mind when it comes to the condition of your home. -
The National Home Inspector Examination, or NHIE, is the standard prerequisite to become a licensed Home Inspector in 35 states.
In Michigan there are no requirements to become a Home Inspector, so to stand out from the crowd Cyris sought certification through the NHIE to show he means business when it comes to inspecting your home. -

Home Inspectors are generalists when it comes to the wide range of trades and skills it takes to build your home.
That said, if there is ever a concern that requires in-depth knowledge we will refer you to a professional in that industry for further evaluation.
During an inspection your inspector will do everything in their power to ensure that no stone is left unturned, but sometimes certain aspects of a home can be inaccessible whether that is due to weather, blockage, or something else. In the event there is something that cannot be inspected during our appointment we will note that in the report. We would be happy to come back on-site to inspect that previously inaccessible details once the path is cleared. Finally, an inspection is a detailed report of our findings on that particular day. Often times things like leaks will leave traces of their existence, but not all problems are immediately visible or have even happened yet. We will ensure to report any concerns we have about our findings and what they could mean in the future.

In your report you will see a color-coded system to make deficiencies easy to spot.Green - No Concerns
